      • Pre-move Inspection

Movers will make an effort to identify and declare (to the shipper) any apparent, pre-existing damages. If the item in question was not declared to have pre-existing damages we will continue with the claims resolution process. This may include an investigation prior to determination of resolution. We will not assume liability for any boxes, containers, or bags that were packed by the shipper.

      • Excluded Items

I understand that any boxes, bags, containers, luggage, or drawer contents (etc.) not packed by Moving Buddies will not be covered by this agreement.

I understand that I am shipping any ceramic, clay, terra cotta, and other kiln-fired or baked pottery at my own risk, and that I will not receive ANY compensation for damages to items of such composition.

I understand that I am shipping any press-board, particle-board, plywood, laminate, MDF, and veneered furniture at my own risk, and that I will not receive ANY compensation for damages to items of such composition.

      • Disclaimer

Notice: Moving Buddies will take legal action against suspected abuse of this agreement, i.e. false claims, feigned dissatisfaction, and exaggeration of value. Also: By disallowing movers to employ safety preparation techniques (padding and wrapping) you risk losing the benefits described in this agreement. Please file all claims here.

      • Moving Buddies Indemnity Agreement

I understand that an estimate is not a binding fixed-rate. I understand that the estimate I was given is based on information submitted by myself or an authorized representative. I agree to pay my bill in full immediately after services are rendered, regardless of any discrepancy between the estimate and the actual cost, or pending claims.

      • Arbitration

I agree to resolve any, and all disputes with Moving Buddies through a qualified arbitration service of mutual approval before filing a complaint with any agency—government or otherwise.

      • Libel

I understand that Moving Buddies will prosecute all cases of slander/libel. I understand that posting a dishonest review online or in print constitutes slander/libel.

      • Access

I understand that it is my responsibility to procure any lease agreements, titling, and general access to dwellings, and (or) facilities in advance. I agree to pay for wait time at the normal hourly rate for any delay that is outside of Moving Buddies control.

      • Consent

I consent to photo, video, and audio documentation at any point during my move, for the purposes of quality control.

      • Chain of Custody

I understand that it is my responsibility to control my important items and documents (i.e. medication, cash, jewelry).

      • Non-Transportable Items

I understand that Moving Buddies cannot move hazardous materials, weapons, infested items, or personal valuables.

      • Post Move Inspection

I understand that I must complete a post-move inspection of transported items before the crew departs my job termination location in order to qualify for insurance coverage.

      • Truck Inspection

I understand that I must complete a post-move truck inspection in order to qualify for insurance coverage.

      • Coverage Rates

A full coverage valuation limit of up to $25,000 per truck, and up to $50,000 per shipment or job is implied. There is no up front cost for this coverage. However, a mandatory deductible is required. See the Mandatory Deductible Section for rates. All Insurance Claims will be forwarded to our cargo insurance carrier Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company. Additional coverage rates are available upon request, and quotes will be given on a case by case basis. Refusal to pay deductible automatically disqualifies shipper (you) for full coverage insurance benefits, and will default your shipment to the Federally Mandated Minimum Valuation of 60 cents/lb. per article.

      • Mandatory Deductible

All claims require a mandatory deductible of $1,000 unless otherwise stated in your contract. A Pledge To Pay Partial Deductible can be purchased from Moving Buddies at the following rates: $100 = $400 Pledge; $200 = $800. All deductibles will be paid to Moving Buddies Cargo Insurance Carrier Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company. All Pledge To Pay Partial Deductible Payments will be paid to Moving Buddies prior to initiation of services.

      • Flat Screen TVs, Appliances, Musical Instruments, & Electronics Coverage

Flat Screen TVs, Appliances, Musical Instruments, & Electronics must meet the following requirements in order to qualify for insurance coverage: (1) Working condition of items must be documented by Moving Buddies in your presence prior to packaging and the initiation of movement. (2) Items must be packed, handled, unpacked, and set up exclusively by Moving Buddies. (3) After Set up, working condition must be documented by Moving Buddies in your presence. (4) Flat Screen TVs must be shipped in their original packaging, or in a certified Moving Buddies TV Crate to qualify for coverage. Prepacked TVs are disqualified for coverage, even if the TV is packed in its original packaging. (5) Flat Screen TVs, Appliances, Musical Instruments, & Electronics that go into or come out of storage, or otherwise depart Moving Buddies chain of custody are disqualified for coverage. (6) In the event of a claim, official proof of value must be provided.

      • IMPORTANT NOTICE

Movers will declare and document any items they feel do not have the structural integrity to remain intact throughout transport and handling. Examples of non-ship worthy items are: plants, pots (clay, terra cotta, porcelain, ceramic, or any kiln-fired, blown, or weathered material). Sheets/slabs of glass (unframed) are declared to be non-shipworthy unless crated. Sheets/slabs of stone (naturally occurring or manufactured) are declared to be non-shipworthy whether they are crated or not. Crating must be completed prior to your move date. We will not assume liability for items that were not crated or packed by Moving Buddies. All claims must be made before our crew leaves your jobsite in order to qualify for insurance coverage. Please make sure your crew does a pre-move and post move inspection.

Furthermore, all functions of electrical and mechanical appliances to include, but not limited to, computers, refrigerators, televisions, stereos, washing machines, dryers, etc. are declared "mechanical condition unknown" or (MCU); and, unless there is visible outward damage, in no case is the carrier liable due to the inherent vice nature of any such article being moved. I also agree to all Terms and Conditions on the back of this contract.

      • DIFFICULT ACCESS EXCEPTIONS
